01 Pre-Production
July – August 2026
  • Finalize documentary themes.
  • Secure interview subjects:
    1. Cosmas (The Assassin)
    2. Young man/teen (The Street Kid)
    3. Western partner (The Businessman)
  • Confirm filming locations in and around Gulu and possibly in South Sudan.
  • Establish awareness and possible partnership with The Barnabas Foundation & other partners and foundations who would want to support this project and provide distribution and platform options.
  • Arrange travel logistics.
  • Equipment prep (purchase or rent).
  • Pre-interviews with Carole and the film's three central subjects.
  • Line up additional interviews with Western partners, like Patti, Jerry, Brewster, Dutch friend, etc.
02 Production
August – September 2026
  • In Africa:
    • Principal interviews:
      • Westerner (in Africa while on a trip).
      • Cosmas.
      • Street kid.
      • Possible short shoot with Carole at HOP, Gulu.
    • B-roll footage on-the-ground filming of projects & locations featured in the documentary.
    • South Sudan: Bible translation group of men.
    • Uganda: GIFT home(s).
    • Drone footage of all major locations we visit.
  • In the US and Europe:
    • Secure a Christian celebrity to narrate the documentary (Patti knows Kirk Cameron and may have other contacts who can help make introductions to bigger celebrities).
    • Secondary interviews.
    • Patti, Jerry, Gail, Brewster, etc.
    • Dutch partner.
    • Florida staff, if needed.
03 Post-Production
October – December 2026
  • Editing, motion graphics, sound design, color grading.
  • Scoring. (Will to help and look into rights to the song “Africa”.)
  • Secure rights from CBN for using clips of their reports on Carole in Africa (2 or 3 different reports over the years).
  • Trailers and teasers to send ahead of film festivals and to partners and foundations who played a role in the documentary.
04 Distribution
January 2027 and Beyond
  • Festival submissions.
  • Premiere screenings, and rollout across faith-based and mainstream distribution channels, paired with a broader awareness campaign and continued partner engagement.
  • Share the documentary information with CBN for an immediate wide audience.
  • The Barnabas Foundation has shown interest in distributing this to their audience.
  • Several Christian productions companies and streaming houses at the ICFF this year let us know they'd happily stream this documentary on their platforms.
